Getting pregnant?
Pregnancy happens when one of your eggs is fertilised by sperm (conception) and then becomes attached to your uterus (womb). You only become pregnant when this attachment happens usually about 6 days after conception. This attachment triggers the production of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the body. HCG is only produced when a fertilised egg implants in the womb and this is how a pregnancy test works by detecting hCG in urine. The amount of hCG increases drastically with each passing day that you are pregnant.
How to use a home pregnancy test?
SafeScreen’s early pregnancy tests use the most accurate hormone detection system to determine whether you are pregnant or not. A home pregnancy test is easy to carry out whatever format of home test is purchased. Clear instructions are included with your order.
Every order is boxed and dispatched the same day. Your home pregnancy test kit will be delivered discretely in a PLAIN unmarked box ensuring your privacy.
Common questions and answers about pregnancy
Q. I have tested positive, what now?
A. We advise you to have any positive result confirmed by your own doctor or health care provider, who will be able to discuss any issues you may have with pregnancy.
Q. I performed a test on the day my period was due, but the result was negative might I still get pregnant?
A. Yes. Every woman ovulates at a different time in her menstrual cycle. Also a fertilized egg can implant in a woman’s uterus at different times. So, the accuracy of pregnancy test will vary slightly from woman to woman.
Q. How accurate are pregnancy tests?
A. All our tests are 99.9% accurate.
Q. I have been told that some pregnancy tests are better than others, is this true?
A. No pregnancy test can claim to be “better”, just more sensitive. There are very slight differences in the sensitivity of pregnancy tests. We sell exactly the same tests that your doctor or health care provider would normally use.
Q. What is a false negative result?
A. Sometimes you may get false negative result if you test too early in the pregnancy. This means that the test indicates that you are not pregnant when, in fact, you are. We advise you to test again in a few days or a week, which is why we offer bulk savings on our product.
Q. Why do you sell pregnancy tests in multi-packs?
A. The reason we offer multi-packs is demand driven. If you are trying for a baby and want to test yourself regularly, we can help save you money by offering higher discounts on larger orders.
Q. Can I use a test more than once?
A. No, each pregnancy test can only be used once and can then be disposed of in your normal household waste.
Q. I am taking medicine will this affect my results?
A. Most over-the-counter and prescription medicines, including birth control pills and antibiotics, should not affect the results of a home pregnancy test. Only medicines containing the pregnancy hormone HCG in them can give a false positive test result (suggesting that you are pregnant when you are not).
